Fleabane (Erigeron annuus)

Erigeron annuusPhotographed June 13.

A very common but always delightful weed, also called Daisy Fleabane or Common Fleabane (but Erigeron philadelphicus may also be called Common Fleabane); its multiple heads of cheery daisy-like flowers bear large numbers of delicate white rays. It can be found on roadsides, at the edges of parking lots, in vacant lots, or in lawns given half a chance. Its peak blooming season is in June. These plants were blooming near Saw Mill Run in Seldom Seen.
